FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

1. What's the difference between diamond drilling and traditional "hammer chiselling"?

Diamond drilling uses special diamond-segment core bits that cut through the material, unlike hammer drills, which crudely break it apart. The result is a perfectly round, smooth opening with no micro-cracks in the surrounding wall and no damage to the finish of the façade or paving.

2. Can a diamond core bit cut through steel reinforcement in concrete?

Yes, without any problem. Diamond technology cuts easily through steel reinforcement inside concrete. The core bit evenly cuts through both the hard concrete and the steel, maintaining the full precision of the opening without compromising the stability of the wall, foundation or supporting column.

3. Does the drilling create a lot of dust and mess?

No. For diamond drilling, we typically use the "wet drilling" technique. Water is continuously fed directly onto the core bit to cool it and simultaneously bind all the dust into a thick slurry, which is then removed with special industrial vacuum extractors. Your garden, façade and interior spaces remain completely clean.

4. Why is this service so important for irrigation and lighting systems?

Main valves, controllers and connections to the water-supply network are often located inside the building itself (in the basement, garage or a utility shaft). To safely route PE pipes and 12V cables out to the garden, the exterior walls need to be penetrated. Diamond drilling allows us to route installations in the shortest, safest way possible, through an opening precisely sized for that specific pipe.

5. What diameters of openings can you drill?

We use core bits of various diameters, allowing us to create openings that perfectly match your installations — from very small holes for thin electrical cables, all the way up to larger openings for main water-supply pipes (PE/rigid pipe) and thicker protective conduits.
